ERP enterprise resource planning

An ERP puts purchase orders, inventory, production, sales and the ledger in one database, so a sales order, a GRN and a GST invoice all point at the same record. For most Indian MSMEs the real job is replacing spreadsheets and a Tally file that only one person understands, without stopping the business while you do it.

Modules

Modules we build into your ERP

Start with the modules that matter most and add the rest in later releases.

Purchase and vendors
Indents, quotations, purchase orders, GRN against PO, vendor rating and three-way matching of PO, GRN and bill.
Inventory and stores
Multiple godowns, batch and serial tracking, reorder levels, stock transfers with delivery challans and physical count reconciliation.
Sales and dispatch
Quotations, sales orders, pick lists, dispatch, credit limits per party and price lists by customer or region.
Production planning
Bills of materials, work orders, material issue to the shop floor, scrap and by-product booking, and job work sent out to vendors.
Accounts and GST
Ledger, receivables, payables, TDS deduction, GST e-invoicing through the IRP and e-way bills generated from the dispatch screen.
Approvals and roles
Approval limits by amount and department, so a large PO waits for the owner and a small one does not.
Reports and MIS
Stock ageing, party outstanding, margin by product and the monthly MIS the owner reads, ready on the first of the month.

AI built in

Where AI saves time in this system

  • Bill and invoice capture

Supplier bills arriving as PDFs or WhatsApp photos are read, matched to the PO and GRN, and queued for one-click approval.

  • Reorder suggestions

Reorder quantities that account for lead time and seasonal demand, shown as a suggestion your purchase team accepts or edits.

  • Plain language questions

Ask which customers are past 60 days or which items have not moved since March and get the answer with a link to the report.

  • Anomaly flags

Unusual rates, duplicate bills and stock adjustments outside normal patterns are flagged for the accountant to check.

Build, buy or both

If your processes are close to standard trading or light manufacturing, Odoo, ERPNext, Zoho Books with Inventory or SAP Business One will do most of the work, and we will tell you so. Tally with a few add-ons is still the right answer for many small traders. Custom pays off when your costing, job work, batch rules or approval chain are what make you money and a packaged ERP forces you to bend them, or when licence fees for 50 users start to exceed the cost of building. A common middle path is to keep Tally or an off the shelf ledger for accounts and build the operational layer (orders, production, stores) around it, synced daily.

Questions

ERP: common questions

Will we have to stop using Tally?

Not unless you want to. Many clients keep Tally for statutory accounts and let the ERP push vouchers to it daily. Your CA keeps working the way they do now.

What does a first release cost?

Most MSME ERPs land between 600 and 1,200 hours, which at INR 199 an hour is roughly INR 1.2 to 2.4 lakh, plus taxes.

How do we move our old data across?

We import item masters, party masters, opening stock and open orders from Excel or Tally, check the totals with your accountant, and run both systems side by side for a few weeks.
