About Code Colonies
What is Code Colonies?
Code Colonies Private Limited is a Global Capability Centre headquartered in India that works with clients around the world. Startups, MSMEs and larger companies use us as their own capability centre for consulting, technology and AI work.
How is the company organised?
There are three divisions, Consulting, Technology and AI, and our own platforms: TrustOS, Synerger, ShopenUp, AksharAI and ServeOS. All of them deliver on the same terms through our delivery model, 2good.dev: USD 2 or INR 199 per hour, a minimum of 150 hours, no advance, and you pay after you accept the work.
Where do you work?
We are based in India and deliver for clients worldwide, across 20 sectors. Most engagements run remotely, with time on site when the work needs it.
How many people work with you?
More than 20 consultants and engineers, with an average of 4.5 years of experience, plus trainees from our on the job programme.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
Delivery runs at the published 2good.dev rate of USD 2 or INR 199 per hour, minimum 150 hours, taxes extra, with senior review, QA and project management included. Nothing is paid in advance: you pay for each output after you accept it. Use the instant estimate for a quick view.
How do you keep the price so low?
AI now takes much of the routine work, our people are trained in our own programme, and we pass the lower cost on to you.
Do you charge for the first conversation?
No. The first conversation is free and there is no obligation.
Working with us
Is payment due only after I accept the work?
Yes. Under O2E, our output oriented model, nothing is paid in advance. A signed specification sets out what done means, you check the output against it, and you pay after you accept it.
Which engagement model should I choose?
Pick O2E if you can describe the work up front. Pick FDE for AI and integration work where the problem is still being worked out. The Startup Engine is for founders who want a partner in the build. The Engagement Finder takes under a minute.
Who owns the code and intellectual property?
You do. Once you have accepted and paid, the source code and project intellectual property are yours.
Can you sign an NDA before we talk?
Yes. Send yours or ask for ours, and we sign it before you share anything confidential.
What time zones do you cover?
The team is in India. Wherever a client is, we agree overlap hours at the start of each engagement.
AI and data
Which AI models do you use?
Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini and open weight models such as Llama, Qwen and Mistral, on Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or your own servers. The choice depends on the task, how sensitive the data is, and cost.
Will our data be used to train AI models?
No. We use enterprise agreements that rule out training on your data, or open weight models running on your own servers.
How long does an AI project take?
Usually a 1 to 2 week assessment, then a 2 to 3 week pilot, then rollout to production and monthly managed operations.
Compliance
When does the DPDP Act apply in full?
The DPDP Rules were notified on 13 November 2025 and start in phases. Consent Manager provisions apply from about 13 November 2026, and most Data Fiduciary duties from about 13 May 2027, unless the government amends the timeline. A proposal to bring these dates forward had not been notified as at October 2026.
Do you give legal advice?
No. We cover the regulation, the processes and the engineering. Your lawyers or legal team do the legal review alongside us.
